The seating in the Crouch Auditorium has accommodated the audiences for plays, concerts, graduations and even a number of funerals for more than 35 years, and the chairs have absorbed their fair share of wear and tear over that time.
During the April 26 Weston County School District #1 board meeting, Trustee Tom Wright suggested that it might be appropriate to begin saving funds to replace the theater seats that have survived well beyond their life expectancy.
He told the group that he broached the subject after learning through conversations that a number of chairs are broken despite the efforts of maintenance personnel to care for the auditorium, and Wright reasoned the board should start considering different funding options for replacing those seats because the price to do so is quite significant.
