Ragland awarded as Wyoming’s best
After more than a decade as principal at Newcastle High School, few would argue that he has his finger on the pulse of his schools. He’s seen all the tricks already, and at any given time he has a pretty good idea of what is going on in every corner of the building he supervises.
That made the task of surprising Tracy Ragland with the announcement that he had been selected as the Principal of the Year by the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals a challenge, but it was one his staff proved more than capable of handling.
“It was very much a surprise,” Ragland told the News Letter Journal after receiving the award in the lobby of the high school in front of a throng of students and staff members.
