Trump just gave himself and his very rich buddies yet another big tax cut! If they get anymore tax cuts, they will have to stand in line at the U.S. Treasury for their handouts!
The electorate, the voters, ‘We The People’ inflicted both Bill Clinton and Donald Trump on ourselves. Doesn’t that tell you something?
Have we just become another pack of dumb, wild animals in the forest? The leaders of the pack get the first bite out of the prey and as many more as they want. The rest of us get the left-overs, if any.
‘We The People’ have given away the benefits we expected from both capitalism and democracy.
From capitalism, we expected accumulating enough capital to do big things, the necessities of civilized living— roads and bridges, basic research, flood preventing dams, a whole host of other benefits and a military to protect us from invasion by hostile foreigners.
Instead we get plutocrats who take and hoard the product of our blood, sweat, tears, imagination, genius and creativity. This ill-gotten lucre is hidden away in “safe” foreign banks where it is of no benefit tob“We The People,” or even the perpetrators of this grand larceny.
What a waste!
From democracy, we expected honest keepers of our government. What we get is a very expensive “Punch and Judy” show. Maybe it is more like the traveling snake-oil salesman. At any rate, they completely distract us with their antics. In this case, there is irony in the pot calling the kettle black. They are both right and they both know it.
Something or somebody needs to be given the boot!
But, power concedes nothing without a fight! What to do? What to do? What was done in the past when the hierarchy overstepped the bounds of simple humanitarian consideration of their fellow man?
It may be time to consider reordering our arrangement for governing of, by and for the people. If you have a good “Plan B,” it is time you give it an airing.
