Census Bureau reports Newcastle grew through economic downturn
Wyoming endured its first population decrease of the decade in 2016, but Newcastle and Weston County didn’t suffer the same fate according to a report released by the Wyoming Department of Administration and Information.
Population estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau indicated that Newcastle’s population actually grew by 10— from 3,525 to 3,535— from 2015 to 2016, which spurred an even slighter increase in county population for the same period (7,230 to 7,236).
