Plenty of money available for tree thinning
The war against the mountain pine beetle is over across much of this region, and that has allowed the Wyoming State Forestry Division to shift its focus towards overall forest health.
“It’s the next step, and what we want to promote. We need a healthy forest,” Assistant District Forester Jeremy Dedic told the News Letter Journal.
He explained that during the mountain pine beetle epidemic, the battle was being fought over certain hot spots and they were simply treating the symptoms of the issues.
