For more than a month, the Weston County Commissioners have been working with County Clerk Jill Sellers to put together a budget that answers all of the county’s demands while still keeping the budget balanced.
The process involves several informational workshops where the commissioners meet with department heads from the various entities that work within the county and go over their budget requests for the Fiscal Year 2018, and on May 6, Sellers provided an overview of the information and requests made during these workshops.
Within her report, she summarized that while revenue estimates are projected to be similar to last year, a number of expense increases have been requested in several departments. Some requests, however, did remain the same as a year ago and others actually decreased.
