Three individuals were arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was executed on May 19 at the Roadside Motel.
According to the Newcastle Police Department, the search warrant was issued and the search conducted after Corporal Richard Hillhouse went to the motel to do a follow-up on another issue, and overheard conversations surrounding drugs and the sale of a controlled substance.
As a result of the search, both Sonya Rath, age 50, and Stephen Shelman, 56, were arrested for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The other individual, James McCall, 39, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, before being extradited on an out-of-state warrant.
