City will close portion of Upper Cambria
The hill is beginning to slide, and along with it comes the gutter and the curb. The retaining wall is starting to fall, and the potential for serious injuries to drivers is present.
City Engineer Mike Moore reported on May 15 that all of these things were taking place on a portion of Upper Cambria Street, and he told the city council that action to prevent an accident had become necessary.
“It probably needs to be condemned before there is an accident…It is to the point that there is no quick and easy way to fix it without an engineer fix, which is expensive,” professed Moore, who suggested the council take action to shut down the half of the road that is being impacted.
